FANTASTIC PAID WORK EXPERIENCE: My Life SC1ence – A CREATIVE WORK EXPERIENCE PROJECT FOR LAMBETH RESIDENTS
We are excited to launch our latest creative careers project My Life SC1ence, that we are delivering in partnership with The Brixton Project and King’s College London!
Do you live in Lambeth, fit into one of the 2 groups detailed below, can come on the project days……
…….and really want to:
- Learn about and engage with the health and life sciences, whilst finding out about the incredible work happening at King’s London Institute For Healthcare Engineering – co-located with St Thomas’ Hospital in Lambeth – as well as King’s School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences and the university’s Science Gallery London at London Bridge.
- Create exciting sharable content and engagement pieces that appeal to your networks and help demystify the health and life sciences sector in order to help build ‘science capital’ within your community.
- Learn key employability skills whilst identifying accessible methods of participation with the sector and diverse career pathways.

Location:
The project will be based at the King’s London Institute For Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) next to St Thomas Hospital in Westminster.
Pay:
Groups 1 and 2 participants will be paid £30 for each day that you attend.
What you will gain from this project:
You will gain priceless real work experience. You will have a real project that will add huge value to your personal statement or job application.
You will work alongside professionals and get to produce real creative work (films) – you can show people what you have made.
You will learn what jobs are available and get feedback and advice from people in the industry.
You will make contacts and have a chance to meet people who could employ you in the future.
We are excited to have received UK Government UK Shared Prosperity Funding to run this project plus support from the Mayor of London and Lambeth Council to make it happen.
